You can "fight the power" all you want, but in a scholoastic environment you may as well be headbutting a brick wall. Argue with your professor, accomplish nothing, cause yourself grief, and you get nothing but grades far below what you deserve.
Tickle his balls a little, make your life easy, get great grades, and then cash them in for a career you enjoy.
Easy decision.

I don't necessarily mean that the professors are liberal, but the school and curriculum are. For example, we actually don't receive letter grades unless we ask for them. You receive written evaluations from the professors instead. This at least helps the grade mongering a bit. Some say it hurts if and when you apply to graduate school, but the grades can be reexamined and managed. Anyway, not having that letter grade either lets you slack off more, or maybe makes you just concentrate on the work and not that letter or GPA...I don't know, it works okay for me.
