I had a 6600GT for a while about two years ago I think. It was nice, but it ended up pulling too much power for my PSU. Apparently that's a common problem. They listed them as requiring ~100w less than they actually needed and burned out quite a few motherboards because of that.

With that said, I replaced it with an ATI x1600. It's a nice card, I like it, it's worked well for me. That said, I'm in the market for my next PC and the card in it will probably be an nVidia simply because the Catalyst drivers make me cry after being spoiled with Forceware. Quite honestly, that was my biggest disappointment in getting my ATI card.

But I've no real love for one or the other. They seem to trade power for price fairly regularly so I guess it'll just depend on how soon I buy my parts.
