Once again, I'm sure we backward, unsophisticated Americans would be upset, yet we seem to have enough couth to not create legislation from those feelings, unlike the Mexican governor. The ability to exchange differing opinions is the backbone of a free society. Come spend some time in the US sometime if you can't wrap your mind around that concept. (Yes, that was petty and insulting, but so were the majority of your posts in this thread. Tit for tat.)
The funny part is its not the conservative Americans that are leaders in censorship these days, its the leftists ( I refuse to call them liberals). Al Gore has decided he will not even entertain any opinion opposing his global warming alarmism, even though both NASA and The New York Times have released data that refutes his claims. US Colleges and Universities consistently have expelled students who dare to express a differing opinion to that of "War is bad" and "Immigration laws are for meanies". Recently a proposed US ambassador was voted down, and the main reason given for this was that he dared to contribute $ to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth (they campaigned against Kerry in 2004), which sets a horrific example.
Conservatism is no longer considered a political philosophy by the left, its considered evil and racist. Its not something that they consider for debate, its just wrong for the reason that it differs from their opinion (and it doesn't put "nice" before "pragmatic"). Leftists HATE conservatism and view it as rich people trying to become richer while exploiting the poor. Conservatives may think that leftists are wrong, but most still believe that they have the best intentions, even the radio talk show hosts admit that. This is a dangerous contrast for a democratic republic.
What were we talking about again? Oh yeah...
Once again, free speech goes both ways. If you criticize America, expect americans to return the favor. Its your right to criticize and its others right to criticize that criticism if they disaggree with you. Now if America then banned your criticism or made it illegal, then maybe you'd have something to
really bitch about. Its kind of like how Sean Penn babbles about how dissenting opinion is censored in the US... yet he is babbling his dissenting opinion... in the US... while he's saying he can't actually do it...
Gotta love that kind of logic.
And this time please try and reply to my posts with ideas and not some silly quote from our national anthem. That kind of behavior just supports my view that those on the left have contempt for conservative ideas, or just have nothing real to refute them with. Plus, you sound a bit retarded doing it in all Caps. Your fellow Canadians deserve better representation, and you are fully capable of giving them just that.
