Re: Wiiless in Memphis
T-Minus 7 hours 15 min before operation "Wii Get" commences. My plan consists of waking at 6am and drivng to the gamestop at a nearby mall. If they do not have Wii's then it will be a matter of calling other gamestops in the area to see if they them. There are three gamestops along the same road along with Circuit City, Best Buy, Walmart, and Target. I can hit each one of them sequentually if necessary. I know my odds of finding one drop significantly if I do not arrive when the doors open but I can only choose one opening to stand in line for. I'm playing the odds by hoping that the gamestop in the mall will have Wii's available.
My other option is to try Toys R Us which opens at 5 am. I'm not sure how I feel about this because out of all the black friday sales the Toys R Us sale has the greatest potential for a death or serious injury to occur. Couple the usual psychotic toy shoppers with the fact that I'm in Memphis and you can see my concern. Memphis was recently rated as one of the top ten most dangerous cities. Also I'm trying to shake a cold and depriving myself of sleep isn't be best way to go about that. I may try calling after 5am but they will probably be too busy to answer.
In any event check back tomorrow morning for a full report.
