OR, 1x BRD could be as fast as a 54x CD. and 2x is twice as fast.

a bit unrealistic maybe.. However, isnt the highest speed for burning a DVD still at just 16x, and thats almost as fast as it is to burn a full CD. so taken into account that a full DVD is 4gb, and a full CD 800mb... then 16x DVD is a whole lot faster then 54x CD.
stands to reason that the newer formats are going to be faster and therefor have a lower number.

BTW.. 2 or 3min? i burn a full CD in 30sec.
