I am here to study the way in which people interact with each other in a digital setting (I'm a sociologist by trade). GameTavern is the perfect sized community for my thesis.

The manner in which people communicate with each other has changed greatly over the generations as has the general family structure. We don't have families the way you guys do. Instead we live in communities of anywhere from 100-1000 people. That's not to say that traditional familes are totally extinct, rather they are no longer the norm. I have a theory on how this happened and I am visiting your time period to gather support.

Tell me, has the human race discovered or been discovered by life elsewhere in the stars? And how are the animals? Have they been taken care of or have more gone extinct. Please take me back with you. I wish to inform your people of the days of yesteryear.
We have not yet been discovered by other forms of life, at least not to our knowledge. Who knows who may be listening to our radio signals though right? We did discover microbes within the liquid ocean of Europa, and we have gathered convincing evidence that life once existed on Mars.

As far as the animals go, I know that species go extinct every day. The only significant extinctions include humpback whales and a certain kind of owl. I am afraid I cannot take you back with me even if I wanted to. The pod only has room for one.

but just to humour you, when was time travel readily available?
I believe the first trips for research purposes were taken 15-20 years ago. It's not readily available in that not just anyone can hop into a pod and take a jaunt whenever they feel like it. You have to apply and be accepted to take a trip.

Who will win the world series this year? Also, what happens when we run out of oil and Natural gas?
I don't follow sports, but I couldn't tell you even if I knew. We haven't run out of oil yet, but it is not used for energy the way it is in your time. 100 years ago the first fusion reactors came online which took a lot of pressure off the oil/gas industry.
