Who the hell is a fanboy anymore. Fanboys only exist in the first 1-2 years of a generation, wherein you're either rich, or you stick to one console and try to justify your purchase of it.
I also don't remember GT specifically being blatantly overopinionated about Nintendo's online service. Feel free to dig up evidence, though.
