Well of course it's not exactly 9 and a half hours. No study is perfect.

But of course you'll feel fine with 7 hours because you've gotten used to it. The point of the study was to let people know that the majority, if not all, teens should be getting about 9 hours of sleep a night on average for maximum performance.

Also, if you're not sleepy enough, you should be exercising more and rigorously and forcing yourself to sleep earlier. It's all relative in the end. Perhaps not needing to sleep so much tells you you're out of shape?

But I digress. Go ahead and stick with 7 hours if you're fine with it. Just know there might be a window of improvement for your body and you might not know it.
