2. What are your responsibilities at your job?
I Promote cosmetics/fragrances/chocolates/wine during promotional periods for different companies. I am given training before hand for every different job and my responsibilites are often different. In a nutshell, i assist companies to push sales during peak buying periods (ex> mothers day/valentines day) or introduce a new product into the market.
3. How do you communicate with other people on the job?
I have to speak to consumers and approach people at shopping centres/events and introduce products to them. I proovide customers with information on items.
4. With customers/management/subordinates, would you say your communication is more direction-receiving, feedback, or equal and why?
equal. As the range of products I am responsible for promoting is often big, feedback is neccesary from the customers. We are encouraged to be extroverted and friendly with customers apart from being attentive.
5. What motivates you to work?
the pay and competition with other promotional staff from other companies during peak periods. Its scary to the customer when a whole bunch attacks them...but its fun
...i love the competition (im one of those evil bubbly salesgirls u get at the mall...smiling like mad, trying to get you to try stuff)
6. Do you feel communication is significant at your workplace? Why/Why not?
yes. Communication is the basis of my job.
7. What is something you would change about the way you could communicate with others at your job?
nothing actually. but it would be nice if customers were sometimes less rude while turning down offers.
8. Do you feel you are an effective communicator?
yes.
