On this day in 1945 the Russian forces whipped the living **** out of Berlin. The Russian people lost 27 million people to the war. The other allied forces don't have much to compare. Just a suggestion but if you're interested you should read up a bit on the Russian contribution to the war. Even now, over a decade after the soviet's collapse, there still isn't much in our school's history books about the eastern front.
I think we should remember their unparallelled sacrifice after the other little celebrations that are going on.
So yeah, I don't have any vodka on hand so a few beers will have to suffice. Drink up!
