Wireless, the crucial step from going from a gaming console, to the living-room multimedia center. Mothers no longer have to scream at kids because there are cords tangled together stretching across the floor, or because they ran a 300' ethernet cable from the living room, down the stairs, across the basement, and to the cable modem on the other side of the house. Now gaming consoles will be welcome in the living room, where we can watch our movies, record live TV, stream music from our PCs, and display slideshows all on one device.

But they forgot about one group yet again, the gamer. What happens when my battery dies half-way through a turn in the final lap of the endurance race? What happens when my battery dies and I find out I have no more? What happens when we go to gaming tournaments, and there's more controllers in a small room then there are channels to select? What happens when my controller breaks and I'm short on cash because game costs are rising that I can't afford $40 controllers?

Wireless controllers are great. A 802.11g network card is great. But you should always have a backup. So my question is, where are the controller ports?

Where's my Dreamcast?
