Possibly - I couldn't watch with the sound on at work. I thought it might be the end of a buck antler, but I don't think they're barbed that sharply. They seem to be going to a lot of trouble to get the word out about trying to recover their missing tooth.
They don't seem intelligent enough to fake it but I'm sure it's possible. The possibility that this is a hoax has to be greater than the possibility some large undiscovered predator ripped a deer in half.
