VirTra Systems has developed a combat sim for the US military that actually fights back. Players engage in various combat scenarios on a platform with a 360-degree screen. If the player fails to kill an enemy in a given amount of time, then the computer sends a shock—equivalent to a stun gun—through the player’s hips. The shock is enough to send players reeling to the ground, but one best recover quickly or else a second shock will be on its way.

According to an editor from PC Powerplay, PC gamers would be incredibly interested in a feature like this. The developer’s spokesman calls it the “ultimate shooter video game”, adding that smells and vibrations could be included. Any takers?
