It IS all about the games but in a retrospect this topic is about the 2 consoles.

You might doubt that MS is going to let themselves get outflanked by Sony.

But then again it might not be a matter of letting themselves.... It might be a matter of Microsoft doing the best they can to create an awesome system then finding out that Sony has come up with a better system. this isn't a fanboy statement as I am only taking into reference the current post from EGM at hand.

No one will ever let themselves be trampled or overrun, but look at Nintendo now? They've lost ground in the console market to Microsoft and Sony after being the pioneer after so long. And I DONT think they LET microsoft and sony do it either.

It's a matter of inevitability..... Xbox 2 has a slated end of 2005 release so I don't think Microsoft has plans to revamp their Xbox 2 after seeing this statement that PS3 might be more powerful. Unless they can revamp the system in less than 10 months.... which I highly doubt for any company to do.

Fact is... it's too soon to tell which system is better. But it's also redundant to say "Microsoft won't let PS3 be more powerful then them." Because it's all a matter of engineering and who does it better. We have yet to see their showings at E3.

Point being: A company can try their hardest to fight for the lead, but will lose it because of support and other key playing factors. For example... Nintendo being in the business for decades is now third to MS and SONY, and that is a fact not a fanboy statement. Nintendo has been in this business longer and has lost ground in the console industry. But do you think Nintendo LET them do it? No they tried their hardest.... and now they are fighting to KEEP their ever growing handheld market. Sony has stepped in and Microsoft in not too far behind, but again I say..... Nintendo won't let them take the handheld market without a fight. But if Sony or MS takes the market from Nintendo, it only means that Sony or MS has done a better job.

It's like going into a job interview with the intentions of taking the job from anyone else because you feel your more qualified. But the other guy gets it.... because he was in reality more qualified.

Like the tried and true quote, "MAY THE BEST MAN WIN" This next-gen will have a heated triple threat match and whoever dominates the next-gen will only mean they had a better console and better support. And DOES NOT mean the other 2 are lacking in any way.
