I'd like to agree with you, but simply put, I've HAD IT with remakes. It would be an interesting and probably good game, but remaking a game is totally counterintuitive to the idea of a "Revolution." If you want to start a revolution, you need something new and groundbreaking, like the original Mario, but it can't simply be that same Mario.
I'm not saying the basics of Mario need to change at all either. All Mario games have stuck to a formula to a certain point and it works fine, but this game needs to have its own feel and levels.
