Re: Do you believe in a 6th sense?
First of all let me say that I'm sorry that happened Stu.
Nothing like this has happened to me personally before. But I've had some neighbors (that were friends) that were really strange. Let me try to explain that:
While I was living in Germany, I was in a Housing Area for the Military. We didn't have any washer or dryers in the actually apartment, we always had to go downstairs to do laundry. Well, while Tyler (friend) and I were playing one day, he asked me if I wanted to see something really weird, and of course I said yes. So we went to the laundry room window and he pointed out his Mom. Easy to see, since she was the only one down there. Then I noticed something really strange. She was talking with somebody. Again, I repeat, there was nobody down there that I could see. I asked Tyler who she was talking with, and he told me that "There is an old fisherman that hangs around here still, for some reason he doesn't want to leave this place." He went on further explaining that this isn't the only "ghost" around this area. And for some reason his mom was able to see them and speak with them too.
His baby sister (don't remember her name) was having a fit one day in her room. So the mom went back to see what was going on. But she was too afraid to go down the hallway, because she claimed to have seen some really EVIL spirits at the end of the hallway. They weren't moving because they were restricted or something. So she had to call the father, who came home and got the baby. Once the baby was out of that area, she settled down. The father was unable to feel or see these Evil Spirits, so he didn't have an issue going back there to get their daughter.
Now for the whole "6th Sense" one. Their oldest daughter (who was a hottie) was a couple years older then me. I think she was a Freshman in High School at the time (I was in the 5th grade). Every time the Space Shuttle launched, the Military School would broadcast it so everybody could watch it. Not to exciting, but it got us out of work for an hour or so. Well, this was back in like 1985. The oldest daughter, was crying when she got up. Telling her mom that she didn't want to go to school. That she knew something bad was going to happen with the Space Shuttle Launch. She said people where going to die that day. She was in tears. The mother didn't make her daughter go to school that day, because she was really emotional and she believed her. Later that day, we were gathered around the TVs to watch the Space Shuttle take off, everything went fine with the take off. That was until we all saw the Space Shuttle Explode. I was in shock. (I hadn't heard the story from Tyler yet, it was just so real to see something like that happen)
As for the rest of the day in school, not very much happened. Our teacher let us sit around and talk quietly to each other. That is when I sat down and talked with Tyler. He told me the whole story, he was pretty shaken up by the whole thing. Once again, I was in shock.
That happened a long time ago, and writing this, it still spooks me to this day. Maybe it was kid just telling a bunch of wild stories, maybe it was true. But it you guys could understand what my beliefs are, you might understand why I took him seriously. About the stories that he told about the females in his family. The men never experienced anything, it was always the females in that family that could see beyond the "curtain."
Here's a question for you Stu. Are you glad that you got this feeling before getting the news? Or would the shock of it broke you down if it came as a surprise? Just curious, don't have to answer that if you don't want too.
