See now this is what bothers me. Here I got XboxLive, had to pay for that. I don't believe I should have to pay for downloads that I get for games on the Xbox. If it were for the PS2, fine. I could deal with that, because you aren't paying to play online with them. But you are with XboxLive. Not saying it's not going to happen.
What these game developers really have to start thinking about is this. They can't start charging every game that comes online. They can't do it. By doing this, they will be cutting themselves off at the knees. Example of what I'm trying to say is this. Say that I get TimeSplitters:Future Perfect, Doom3, Madden 200X, Perfect Dark:Zero, and Halo2. Each one of these games decided to charge for some kind of online play (or charge for dl content), and they start doing what MMORPGs do, charge a flat fee of $20 a month. Ontop of that, I have my ISP cost and Xbox Live Cost. Do the addition, if I want to play these games online... it's going to cost me $120 a month. That leaves me no money to get new games. If I don't have the money for new games a ripple effect will happen with this. End result of the ripple effect, fewer games and developers. Maybe the fall of the Gaming Industry.
I'm not saying that if I'm the only one in the world that doesn't buy games, the industry is going to fall. But I think that the majority of people will fall under the same catorgery as me.
I guess it's all how you look at it. I don't see it as a good thing. If Sony and MS decided to go with this type of thing, I will be proud to stick with Nintendo and their offline play.
