We would like to think that's true, Darkmaster. And maybe it is. But what conclusion do you think Ubi Soft is going to make? I would hope that they would mark the game's success up to better name recognition and marketing (I understand the first one didn't get many commercials). But I don't think that's going to happen. They'll think, "We made him into an anti-hero who decapitates people and screams, 'You bitch!' People bought it in droves. Must be a good thing."
The real problem isn't that the tastes of the mass population suck (that just goes without saying). The problem is that Ubi Soft now probably has the wrong idea about what makes the game good and what people like about it. The next Prince of Persia is likely to feature even more unoriginal cursing and terrible, inappropriate heavy metal music. And in a time when IGN starts calling for Zelda to get murdered, this is not a trend I particularly like to see.
