I understand the point of the article, and I do agree with it that there are still problems with discrimination in America. That one is a given, although you have to admit things are drastically improved and still slowly improving.
What I don't like and what I disagree with isw how you and the article suggest that all discrimanatory activity in America is spawned by conservatives. It seems like everyone has this stereotype that the "loving, caring liberals" are here to protect the underprivaleged african-american from the "hating, pilaging, evil conservatives." It is not like Bush is telling these people to fight back against the black man so he can win the elections.
I am a conservative and I have no prejudice towards black people. And, I know liberals that don't like black people for one reason or another.
I guess I'm mainly arguing against your stereotype at the beginning then the article, even though that is pointing to Republicans as the bad guys more than Democrats. I think that is wrong to say that just because some fanatics somewhere are harrassing african-americans. They give a bad name to us all as people.
