You can say Indian without being racist... when referring to someone who's from India. They're Indian. The only reason why we refer "Natives" as "Indians" is because whoever the dumbass who saw them first thought he was in India, when really it was north America.
Why don't you ask a Native person if they like being called Indian? It' offensive.
