Re: Revenge of the Sith
Darth Sidious, yes.
Have any of you heard the changes they're making to the original trilogy on the DVD? Not only are they using only the Special Editions, but changing even more stuff.
Now, I don't really mind changes to the movies for FX purposes or continuity. I'm more a fan of Star Wars the property rather than just the three original movies, so I don't mind a little changes to make it all flow better.
Like the SE editions. I liked the extra Jabba scene and the extra celebration scene, etc. The only thing that annoyed me was Greedo shoots first, but I honestly didn't notice it until someone pointed it out.
But they are going too far with the "Ultimate DVD Editions."
First, they're changing the Stormtroopers' and Boba Fett's voice to Temuera Morrison, the guy who played Jango Fett. Makes sense; they're all one big clone family. I don't really mind. Not like they talked much anyway.
Second, they're Sebastian Shaw, the guy who played Anakin Skywalker at the end of RotJ, with Hayden Christensen at the ghost scene in RotJ. Sucks for Sebastian, but it fits. Okay.
Third, they're sticking Ian McDirmiad, Palatine in RotJ and the prequels, into the Vader/Emperor scene in ESB in place of Clive Owens, who did the Emperor for the short scene in ESB. That's cool.
Fourth, they're changing the Emperor's lines in that scene completely. NOT cool. It takes everything out of context and just sounds WRONG. No! Just no! Not only does this ruin the scene, it also completely shoots down Shadow of the Empire's prologue. George Lucas you BASTARD!
Let's not forget another addition to the RotJ celebration: Naboo complete with Gungans shouting "Wesa free!" (although that may have just been sarcasm, I'm not sure).
>_<
Who knows what other crap he'll pull? CGI Yoda teaching Luke how to lightsaber duel? Ben Kenobi sharing the wonders of midichlorians? Naboo fighters in the Battle of Endor? C-3PO stripping down and letting his parts show for the ladies?
Argh!
*shrugs and walks away*
