Yeah, I knew Wal-Mart's policy about no cash back. I wasnt even expecting to get my money back, so I didnt even ask for it. My whole intention was to trade it for something else.

So, let me tell you the story of what happened today (the day I returned the game.)

Before I left to go to Wal-Mart, I formatted the harddrive in which I was returning. I wanted to make sure that none of my credit card info, etc was still on it. I put all of the stuff back in the box it came in, and grabbed the reciet I had been keeping for 2 months.

Then, I began the journey to wal-mart. When I arrived, I handed over the FFXI box to the lady at the door and she put a sticker thing on it. Then I took it to the return counter. I made up a story about how a couple weeks ago it just stopped working randomly. She said I could exchange. I ask her if I could exchange for something of equal value instead, and she said no. I was very dissapointed, but I just thought I would exchange anyway, and sell the new sealed game on Ebay, for more than I could get with a used version.

I got another FFXI box, and took it back up front. When I got there, I was amazed to see ANOTHER woman was running the return desk. I kind of glanced around and saw that the other woman was gone. So then I made a decision to completely change my story from the last womans.

So I told her the truth. I said the game wouldnt work with my connection, and I dont think that the new one will work either. She told me she didnt think she was allowed to exchange it for something else. So she picked up the phone, then walked off somewhere, then came back again. Then she said "ok honey, go get whatever you want."

So I went and grabbed this super awesome NES style GBA SP and paid the extra 12 bucks. Wow this baby is awesome.

I was so suprised that I had gotten so lucky as to see another woman there. The lesson from all this? Just tell the truth in the first place.

Edit: My brother bought Metal Arms: Glitch in the System for the PS2 while we were there. Only 20 bucks, and it's an AWESOME game. I cant believe that some of the most underated, yet awesome games, are selling for 20 dollars. You can get things like Metal Arms and Beyond Good and Evil for only 20 dollars. I like it, but I dont think normal people see what they are missing. This has been an excellent day. I lucked out and got a GBA, and have a new game that I didnt pay for.
