You have to go through that Bull**** because there will always be things you don't WANT to do but have to man up to and do them anyway. I guess they do it to ensure discipline and a good work ethic between the corps.
Plus, the faster you do it the faster you'll be done. I think it's all a lesson...an annoying one though
