If you are in a plane and you run out of gas, what do you do? You panic and scream and yell while you plummit to the ground at speeds that are unimaginable to pull out of, though giving yourself the hope that you will survive somehow. But no you will crash and die, the the story will be on CNN saying about this freak plane accident and how it only happens one oout of every 2,000 plane flights. But how many planes fly in a week? way more than 2,000.
Thats what i think of everytime i think of the fact that im going to England in the summer...

According to this
website of the National Safety council, the statistics for the year 2001 in the United States show:
One out of every 247 people will die in a car accident in their lifetime. This does not include pick-up trucks, vans, or other forms of ground transport besides cars.
One out of every 4,023 people will die in an air transport accident in their lifetime. This includes all forms of air transport including spacecraft.
In 2001, 14,946 people died in car accidents alone. Keep in mind this does not include pick-up trucks and vans as well as tractor trailers, etc.
On the other hand, only 918 people died in Air and Space Tansport accidents in 2001 in the United States.
