You're allowed to hit someone whenever you like (though it may be abuse.) What you're not allowed to do is a calculated reverse punch in the solar plexis in a front stance, and following up with a roundhouse groin kick.
It's like applying boxing to real life. You probably shouldn't punch someone, and "guidlines" are there, but if this guy is a total penis head, he deserves some sense whacked into him - Literally. It's probably not morally acceptable to throw him in a ring with you so you can beat him up like a punching bag.
See, don't use your style. Use your common sense. You've sworn loyalty to the style, but you're still YOU. Don't let it get in the way.
