If Moore's job is to be the tough guy and check hard then he should live up to it and be willing to take the recourse for his hit(s). Realistically the NHL is a league that has laws. There is always a reaction to an action. It's sad that Moore had his neck broke unintentionally but he should have had the guts to atleast standup for his hit and duke it with someone who would have provided a fair fight. doesnt matter if he was being a tough guy or not, checks are checks. all players check, and its part of the game.
Fighting arguably is not, there is no rule that states you have to fight. his job is to play hockey, he did. with a clean hit that something no one could have expected happend. but he did nothing wrong. now because he didnt want to fight he may never play again.
