So I emailed good old Lee - he is the environment designer for metroid prime 1, 2 - and here's what he had to say:

Yah work is going crazy here. I should update my site soon. I can't show any Metroid work till the public see's it. Hopefully E3. So untill then the only work I can show is personal projects which of lately is slow moving. 
Hopefully people will like the new features. We shall see at this years E3 show.
