I have decided that the contest forum needs to see a little more action, and what better way to do it than a Magic tournament?
Magic The Gathering, for those of you who dont know, is an extremely strategy based trading card game. But lets face it, if you dont know what MtG is, than your not likely to do well at all in this tournament. It is possible to play Magic on the internet, using a software called "apprentice". To get apprentice, go to this site:
Dragon Studios
If Dragon Studios will not load, use this site:
http://www.mtgparadise.com/~mtgportal/pages/appr.htm
But it doesnt have the Mirrodin set in it. Oh well. I dont like Mirrodin anyway.
Click on Apprentice, then download it. Then download the latest Oracle patch. Then familiarize yourself with the system, and create a legal Type 2 deck. You heard me TYPE 2! In order to create a type 2 deck, just apply the "Type 2" filter when creating a deck in the "Deck Editor."
So, if you download this, or already have it, and are interested in participating in the Great GameTavern Magic Tournament, just make a post saying it, and I will constantly update this post with a list of participants.
There are three formats you can play in: Type II (current cards), Type I (every card ever created), Type II & I (you play in both tournaments.)
Once (if) we have enough, the Tournament will commense.
Type II:
Participants:
Vampyr
The Sly Moogle
Rndm_Perfection
Josh
Bube
Type I:
Participants
StoneCutter
The Sly Moogle
Josh
Rndm_Perfection
Vampyr (I decided I
would go through the 1000's of cards, and I made what I think is an awesome Type I deck.)
Bube
If you havent played magic in a great deal of time, and you arent familiar with the Type II format, or if you have never played magic before and are interested in starting, then go to this site:
Brain Burst and get a premade deck that you find interesting or looks like fun to play with. But be warned: Its not nearly as rewarding to play and win with a deck built by someone else than it is with your own deck.
