I've become a political junkie

This is how I spend my days: Since it's the end of the month I have a lot of downtime at work. Everyday I spend at least two hours pouring over articles from all the news sites cnn, msnbc, cbs, abc, even fox news, along with several independent sites. I know more about the voting process than any sane person should. I also spend time analyzing the polls, analyzing the analyses, examing voter trends and various other factors. Now while I blieve Kerry has an excellent chance of winning, I'm trying to find things about Bush that I like in case the republicans are able to destroy enough democratic ballots to give him the win. Now this has been a very difficult process, but I found I do like policies such as the tax relief. Nevermind the fact it's screwing over the country and people are losing jobs - from a purely selfish standpoint I like it. He's proven he's tough on terror, perhaps to a reckless extent. I like that he doesn't coddle minorities simply because of their skin tone. And if money were no object and there were no treaty concerns than I guess having a barely functional NMD is better than no NMD. Also I'm never planning on having an abortion, and I use protection so that shouldn't be an issue for me. Yes, your glorious forum leader does occasionally get some. On rare occasions. Anyway after this is over I'm probably going to have to purge, much like Team America's Johnston.

Hey, I'm not dissing that. Neo just mentioning that he is looking at these things is more than any other Bush hater on this forum (notice careful selection of political opinion, not Kerry Supporter)

I have tried to be unbiased at the beginning of the campaign, but obviously, I am on the Republican side now. When I was finding out about Kerry some major things struck me as wrong with him.

1) Lack of any notable acheivments. Really, when have you heard of something notable that he has done since being in Congress for 20 years? He seems like a floater in there.

2) Changing stance depending on audience. I'm not just talking about flip flops. The man tries to fit in and be a part of every audience, which makes him look fake. A good example is the recent geese hunting photo op. This man, who we know speaks very eloquently, goes into a hunting store in the south and says, "Can I get me a hunting license here?" So just because he's in the countryside he has to sound like a hick. His stance on issues is the same.

So, anyways, Kerry a silly boy, but I don't go to the extreme of saying he is going to kill America. I think the world oil crisis will kill us all. So, it really doesn't matter who is president.

2 posts.

2 posts is all it takes before someone attacks a candidate. We are evolving.

Why not just make one thread specifically for being pissed at both candidates instead of turning threads not meant for it, into a political tirade.

I'm sorry. I didn't realize that stating my opinion on something was now attacking.

I find your analysis of my post slightly more than funny, seeing as most of your political posts lack any actual information.

No, MY political posts arent attacks per say. More of, as you said, my opinion. Just as you said yours. But opinions dont need information. Opinions are opinions regardless of lack of info, proof or evidence. You cant say my opinion isnt credible because i dont show proof of what i say, or because i dont back it up. Its an opinion.

Yeah, but there are inherently many problems with your opinion theory.

For example, I could say that in my opinion, Ralph Nader will win the election. Sure it's an opinion, and despite it having no chance of happening or anything to back it up, nobody could tell me that I'm personally wrong. But I am wrong and while I have the right to say it, that doesn't make it any more credible.
