RIP B.C.

October 22, 2004 - The Intrepid and Lionhead caveman game, B.C., has today been canned after many years of work. Here's the word from Lionhead:

In announcing the decision to suspend work on BC, Peter Molyneux Managing Director of Lionhead Studios said "The decision to suspend work on any games project is always a very difficult one, particularly when it is a title with the potential of BC. We hope to revive the project at a later date and will endeavour to assign as many of the team as possible to other Lionhead projects."

Here's hoping that this sees the light of day at some point.

God damn it...this game looked very promising. Hopefully they start it up again at some point or another.

Here's an old trailer to remember some of it's goodness. http://www.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/t_bc_e3_2k2.html

EDIT: oops wrong trailer. changed.

That's too bad, especially when they had gone so far in development with it. I suspect we'll see it in the next generation of consoles.

It looks bleak because of the loss of one game?... o.O

I havn't been paying much attention to Xbox (considering I don't have one)... But I was looking forward to this game... My guess is that they weren't able to do everything they wanted to do with the game with this current generation of hardware, so will put it on hold until they can... *shrug*

Yeah, they had been continually chipping away at this games original concept (much like Fable) and I guess they didnt want to dissappoint us again. It's better that they suspened this game....for now.

If the Legend of Zelda was canned for Gamecube, Gamecube's only major prospects would be, say, Mario Tennis, and RE4. The problem with Xbox is that I want hardly anything past Halo 2's release date now. Maybe Conker or Kameo.
