Secret port on the system, most people think it is part of a microphone headset... i can see how this might be used as a "free" cell phone type communication.... what do you think, voicemail on the Nintendo DS? sounds good to me.

I'm going to have to say it's a headset port. Nintendo is very strict about making sure their systems never stray from their primary purpose and phone capability would not relate to fun gaming.

using the wifi to communicate with someone to set up games and or voice comm similar to xbox live would make sense to me. but that's just a guess anyways.

No, too much danger, too many liabilities. Nintendo would get sued because kids would get abducted by alleged 'playmates'.

There could be other uses for it. Could be used as a dual headset and mic so you dont look so dumb :p But yeah, I think its just going to be a standard headset thing but you never know what Nintendo will do anymore...

But it's already got a microphone built in. What would it matter if it had a head-set? It would improve the quality of microphone use, but if there's already one built in it seems kind of pointless.

Well, if you do stop being blind for one second, you will notice the picture next to the port of a headset. Thus indicating some sort of sound recognition, and headphones so you can listen to the games in solitude and peace.

Well... Nintendo is very suspicious of this feature.... :unsure:
Why wouldn't they just admit it's a mic port??

It could be a pheriphal (spelling?) port, perhaps for a camera (in the form of a worm light)?
