You know what I'm starting to hate? The internet.

The lack of grammatical and spelling skills are just appaling on the "Information Superhighway". I have stopped reading what many people write (i.e. diaries, journals, Typhoid's posts....kidding) and it seems to me that people are so happy online. Why are they stuck in this ecstatic state of orgasmic joy?

I hate this friggin' phrase. It's so pointless. Are you really laughing out loud, or are you just entering these letters as a conversation-filler? Does this piss you guys off too?

I don't hate LOL, it just isnt my style. I use Heh or Hah or even Humphrt, but never LOL or LMAO or ROFL. I rarely do any of those things so why should I type that I do.

I personally don't use acronyms often. When I do it's only for something that I would actually say in real life. Who actually says "Laughing out Loud?"

I use the abbreviation 'LOL' among others to convey a false sense of amusement to my reader. It also allows me to respond without putting any thought into a conversation. I can simply 'LOL my way' through a conversation consisting of one or more other people. This is especially useful when you're doing other things on the computer like listening to music, or talking with people whom you consider more important.

I hate anybody who degrades the English language on the Internet. Using the above shorthands and changing "you" to "u" and "thanks" to "thx" really don't sit well with me either.

As I see it, your power over minor grammatical rules dictates how much of an intelligence rating you get from me.

But seriously...I dislike the acronyms and abbreviations big time. It just seems foolish to me. I wouldn't respect myself if I started typing like that.

I hate ppl who abbv. evrything. It makes no sense to me y they do it. Its like savng seconds of there day means so much to them they cut corners and make thmslvs look relly relly lame. Ppl need to lern how to spell, becuz it can get super annoying to keep readin sommin some1 rites, and u cant tell wut they mean by it.


EDIT: and if the internet really pisses you off, just stop using it. There was this guy I know that pissed me off, so i stopped going to his house every Friday...Kidding, kidding.

The bottom line is, if something makes you mad, stop going to the source. Not the music awards, the thing that makes you mad. Its like, you know rolling in toxic waste will give you lymphoma and piss you off, but you do it anyways to pass the time, and because everyone else is doing it.

So if it makes you mad, stop using it, and i assure you, you will be happier.

my biggest problem is using the three periods...

i do that way too much. i do use WTF and lol a bunch on aim, but not too much on message boards. to me, it seems like a cool dialect of english. it is more efficient, and you can certainly understand just as easily. personally, i think it's cool, but i know kids are growing up using this crap, and pretty soon brain power will be at a minimum. oh well.

On boards I do the periods quite alot too...just a habit I formed...damnit..i must stop

I use lol sometimes in city of heroes when in a group but on AIM I usually use heh most of the time.

and I dont mind if they aren't laughing. Its more of a "that was funny" thing now. If you do something like LOL or rofl/lmao, then your laughing. lol is generic now :p

The 3 periods help though...you can put non-sentences together, and make random thoughts make sense!

Personally, I hate the spam out there. Not word spam, but spam spam. I went to an IRC search engine today, to find servers to download music on, and an ad for FREE ASIAN PORN1111! popped up. I mean, what the hell. I'm just doing some innocent pirating, I don't want to look at FREE ASIAN PORN1111!

Eventually, the spyware is going to catch up to Mozilla. And then we're all screwed.

Mozilla and IE is like Mac and Windows. Which do you want to infect more? A population you can possibly get 95% of or 5% of ;)

That's true, for now, but a lot of people are switching to Mozilla. Even Mircrosoft suggested that users get a different browser to replace Internet Explorer. IE is buggy, it crashes, it's a spyware magnet, and it can't do much about ads.

Hopefully the government steps in like they keep saying they will. We need government support to get rid of all the spam out there.
