Edwards Made it Easy...

Well John Edwards speech last night made my decision this election very easy. I was split until Edwards got up on the podium and spit of some of the most divisive and intellectually insulting crap I've ever heard coming out of one politicians mouth.

His concentration on "Two Americas" proves to me that the Democratic party is just as self-deluded and intentionally misleading as ever. If you were listen to his speech you would think that Americans were made of 1% super rich and 99% dirt poor, which is rediculous and just another attempt by the democratic party to continue the class warfare that they depend on to get elected. "Rich people are evil and you are deprived by them" is a bogus argument to say the least, but that doesn't keep democrats from repeating it over and over until every gullible group thinker buys into it. The truth is rich people employ me, my family and most likely most of your families. They provide you with jobs that put food on your plates, clothes on your back and a car in every driveway.

Here's a an interesting counterpoint to this: If the average American in so disenfranchised as Edwards claims, WHY IS IT THAT HOME OWNERSHIP IN AMERICA IS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH? Just a question that requires a little logical reasoning...

Thank you Edwards, you made my decision this upcoming election SOOOO easy.

You are aware John Edwards has been giving that speech since the Democratic primaries began, right? But I agree with you, the Democrats are masters at class warfare. Although their argument makes little to no sense, it is an emotional appeal and it is extremely effective politics.

I see nothing wrong with raising rich people's taxes. After all, they are rich anyways.

rich people get taxed, big deal... that is why then invested tax writeoffs... from some one in the financial services point of view... tax those rich people baby. all rich people make money too easily, that is why they are rich. if they were rich from their family being rich, it's a different story. that's also why they who already have the big bux dont get taxed as much as those who are each year raking in 200,000 bux and more. TAX em baby!

This election is all about feeding BS to the audience. All the talk on war and money is BS. There is no way the Democratic Party will fix all the problems we have right now. There just is no way. The war on Iraq isn't going away, nor the war on Terrorism, and I don't think Bush is either.

Kerry is portraying himself as some middle class Vietnam hero. He failed to mention that his wife is a billionare, that he lives between his 5 houses, and that he has always had wealth.

Re: Edwards Made it Easy...

We already use a progressive tax, so rich people already pay a much higher percentage (in theory) than poor and middle class people do even after the tax cuts that were put in place. Even if we had a flat tax (which I am a big fan of) rich people would still be paying much more than you or I do simply because they make much more money than you or I.

But in the end, all the Democrat's wind blowing about taxes means nothing, because of all the tax shelters and loopholes the rich are given through the current tax system. The democrats matra sounds good, but in the end all it means is that they are taxing rich people at a higher rate that those rich people won't have to pay anyway.

Who will higher taxes hurt? Self made rich. Those that actually became rich from out of nowhere and don't know how to handle their newfound wealth. Look at what happened to MC Hammer. In the end our progressive tax system actually works against the American dream. The way we handle taxes, especially under democrat's view of taxing the crap out of the rich, does more to continue the "Two America's" cycle than the Republican's ideal of taxing them less. Don't even get me started on Estate/Death taxes and how they benefit the rich and create even more severe class divisions than anything...

Like so much of the Democrat dogma, under closer inspection their views fall apart.

I've got a solution.

Let's all of America revolt, implement a new governmental body. We'll call it GTocracy.

We'll rule with an iron video game fist.

Our first plan of action will be to implement "Gametavernomics" similar to "Reaganomics."

We will change the face of the economy forever.

(I haven't actually figured out what Gametavernomics involves, so don't quote me on this or anything. He he, promises promises promises. Spoken like a true politician)
