GameTavern - Half Life 2...almost ready?

A post on the HL2world.com forums refrences an email sent by Gabe Newell on the Status of the much anticipated game. Suppousedly, the amount of bugs in the game is quickly becoming a smaller and smaller number. Which is definatley music to a lot of gamers ears. A qoute is as follows:

"Right now we are looking at our bug numbers. Each day you fix some bugs and you find some new bugs. The net number tells you how quickly you will get to zero.

"At our current rate of find/fix bugs, we'll be down to zero bugs in 16 days."

This was of July 21st, so now we can only hope that the number is now down to 13. While there may still be some other minor work to be done before the game goes Gold, fixing bugs is usually one of if not the final thing done before a game is completley finished. Valve and Vevindi still have no definate word on the final release date of Half Life 2, but this report seems to still go along with the former statement that the game would reach gold status this summer. With any luck, we could be playing Half Life 2 within a month or 2.
