I'm sick of Nirvana, they're not THAT great..and since I want this to be a real battle I'm going to vote for Evanescence.

And Evanescence is any better? Nirvana kind of paved the way for the way all music sounds now, in a way. And they are great. :p

I don't really care for either of them...I just hate it when bands win by a lot....but then again The Who is winning 8-1..but I acutally listen to them and they are definitely better than The Beach Boys(who are great too) in my opinion, so I can actually vote without worrying about it being close.

I dont like them. I hate what they did to rock and roll.

And Amy Lee is my favorite female vocalist of all time...but it doesnt look like she is going to win. But I'm going to hunt down and +rep everyone who voted against Nirvana this round.

Thats good, because they didnt do rock and roll, they did grunge.

Its the same difference between punk and rock, or rap and R&B/soul or country to bluegrass.

Typhoid is right they were one of the many bands to come out of the seattle grunge seen in the early nineties

Just as an FYI, Hip Hop is not a music genre, it's a type lifestyle and culture. I think you meant R&B.

I voted Nirvana because Evanscence sucks with passion. Nirvana is extremely overrated and paved the way for the craptacular bands of today. Give me 80s metal anyday over boring grunge music. Grunge mostly consist of angst, depression, dry power chords, and a 5 note solo. I favor two grunge bands, that being Alice in Chains (they are more metal) and Nirvana, the rest bore me.

NO! The Beatles gave us pop music.

And most music popular today is Hip-Hop/R&B.

Most rock bands are Punk or at least trying to be.

Grunge is mostly dead.

NO! I never said Nirvana gave us pop music. I was trying to say they shaped new music into what it is, more punky, and rawer. There are a few exceptions of bands though.
