Spider-Man 2 *spoilers*

Not much has happened in the past week. At all. I'm using my dad's computer now. I should be able to be on more often (like I'll have anything to post -_-).

I saw Spider-Man 2 yesterday. I thought it was neat.

[spoilers...so...don't read if you haven't seen it....]

It seemed like a lot of people saw Spider-Man without his mask, though. First are all those passengers on that train. Doc Ock screws up the trains breaks and Spider-Man's mask get's sparked. He rips it off and goes to save everyone with his web.

Every single person in the front car of the train sees Spider-Man's face. Now, I'm a sucker for the common people finding out superheroes' identities and going, "OMG! He's just like a normal person! With god-like abilities!' but it seemed to me that Spidey didn't really try to hide his identity; he kept looking back at the people with his mask off.

Then Harry Osborn rips off Spidey's mask when Doc Ock deliver's him. Spider-Man then rips apart the barbed wire that's tied him up. Why didn't he do that before Harry ripped off his mask?

Then Spider-Man rips off his mask to try to persuade Doc Ock to take control over his arms and save the city. Mary Jane, who was, of course, in peril, finds out who Spidey is as well.

I think the third movie will have Peter Parker saving old ladies in his boxers.

I was hoping that the third movie would be about Venom and/or Carnage, and I thought Spidey 2 was setting up for it with the introduction of Jameson's son the astronaut, but the ending pointed more towards the second Green Goblin.

*sigh*

I heard that in Spiderman 3, Spidey will have 3 new opponents (Venom, Hobgoblin, and Carnage), a new suit (I think we are all on the same page on this one), and 2 new sidekicks (possibly).

So I've heard.

But if its just Hobgoblin as the leading badguy, I am boycotting this movie.

I really dont need to see another look-alike fighting Spiderman, again.

Well heres hoping....

Hopefully the third one is where Harry goes Hobgoblin but decides to use whats left of the company and make Venom and Carnage.

But I think with Spidey and the no mask, he's been fighting crime for 2 years so he probably didn't give a damn at that point. He just wanted to save the people. Then after that, he basically said **** it, I'll let MJ know and whatnot.

And with the Harry revealing his look part..I think Spidey was unconcious still or something. But then magically came back after he was discovered

Re: Spider-Man 2 *spoilers*

I don't think 3 villains at once will work well... Two worked for the Batman movies (erm...Batman Returns anyway), but then the Batman movies focused more on the villains than the hero.

Venom and Carnage could probably work together, but not with the Hobgoblin (I didn't know Harry became Hobgoblin...I thought he became another Green Goblin and that Hobgoblin was a copy cat... *shrugs*)

Also... Make Venom and Carnage? The symbiotes are aliens are they not? They were in the cartoon... And I remember reading a comic where the Silver Surfer was saying his race was destroyed by the symbiotes or something (been a while...).

By sidekicks, are you talking about Black Cat? That might be neat...

A new suit would suck. Boo!

What I liked is that the two kids promised to keep his identity a secret. And I liked how all the other people respectfully didn't run for their cameras or yell out the window that Spiderman was unmasked.

I think he wanted Harry to know. Just like he wanted Otto Octavius and Mary Jane to know. This movie is about truth and Peter entrusting his secret to those who are closest to him or those he likes or cares about. He also confesses to Aunt May the truth of how Uncle Ben died.

Yeah, and then when Mary Jane is shown running out of the church to Peter's apartment in her wedding dress, I was thinking that that was Peter imagining it. I didn't actually think that was going to happen. That was cool.

OMG you're such a Spider-Man newbie.

Can you or someone else tell me who Venom and Carnage are and how they come to be? Also, what's this you're talking about regarding Jameson's son. Does he become a villian. Because I did notice he had kind of an angry/heart-broken expression on his face after he reads the note from Mary Jane.

Ok, now I have a question. What was up with Spider-Man's powers randomly giving out on him randomly? Is it stress related? Or was he not focusing enough? I didn't know he had to focus to use his powers? And how does he able to regain them?

I think it was kind of stress related. Because they were showing how because his life is full of secrecy and whatnot, its just adding stress to him because he has to break promises without a reason.

Hmm let's see

Everyone seems to be more familar with the Venom origins from the cartoon, which is vastly different from that of the comics, and even Ultimate Spiderman.

I don't see the big deal with Venom/Carnage, anyhow. I mean I like them as villians, but even in the comics they didn't show up for some... 20-25 years after Spiderman was around.

What are Venom's comic origins? I'd like to know...

I think Spiderman 2 was a good film, but I can't see any future Spiderman movie being as relevant to the main character's lives as the first two. I can see a bad sequal coming from a mile away...

They pretty much solved every unresolved problem that was in the first spiderman movie. He got the girl, he told almost everybody who needed to know the truth... what now? The first movie left so much story to build off of with so many people, but the second didn't leave barely anything. The next movie will pretty much have to be building up somthing from scratch...

You are referring to a comic book series that has survived for almost 50 years.

There is a lot of ground to cover, how do you think MJ feels knowing her boyfriend is always putting his life in danger when he is late for dinner? How does Harry feel now that the man he thinks was responsible for his father's death is his best friend? How do you think he feels now that his dad turned out to be an insane murderer? Does Aunt May know yet? And do you not think John is pissed at Peter for stealing his future wife?

Do you think Peter's life will be all sweet now that most everyone knows and he got the girl? Heck, if anything it just opens up a whole new world of problems. I mean MJ always felt like a victim before imagine how she feels knowing she will always be a target as long as she is with Peter/Spider-man?

Harry was Peter's best friend (basically only friend) do you think he not knows how to hurt you the most? Do you think he won't use that to his advantage?

And what if a wrench is thrown in the way of Peter and MJ's love? Black Cat? Gwen Stacey? John Jameson again?

Re: Spider-Man 2 *spoilers*

Hmm... good points BAB. You are right, there is material to make a sequal off of, but how relevant is it? We are talking about moving from two stories that were basicaly centered around Peter Parker and his life, and his self discovery... Spiderman 2 adds in a random bad guy but continues to push the story of what creates spiderman and why he wants to fight.

Mr Parker solved every issue that was eating himself alive, he told the truth to his aunt about what happend to Ben, MJ now knows he is spiderman, and why he has not been able to have a relationship with her... and his friend knows he is spiderman, and WHY he killed his dad. What other issues needed to be solved for Spiderman personaly? Nothing... hollywood will have to create new problems, and pretty big ones if they want it to be as relevant as the first two movies.

Re: Spider-Man 2 *spoilers*

In the comics, Gwen Stacy came before Mary-Jane as Peter's love. Then she was killed. And didn't Harry already know that his dad was the Green Goblin? I mean, he was there in his costume pinned against a wall by his glider with his mask off. Did the police lie to Harry about his father's death?

Re: Spider-Man 2 *spoilers*

Spider-Man delivered Norman's body to his house. The police never saw the scene at the end of the first movie.

Spider-Man also obviously took the Goblin suit off of Norman. He did say not to tell Harry. I think Pete probably respected him enough (whether or not he was the bad guy) to follow his last wish.

Ok, this isnt a spoiler of any kind at all, But i thought it was "Spiderman" not "Spider-Man" This is ultra confusing...

Re: Spider-Man 2 *spoilers*

Spider-Man. The hyphen is supposed to be there. You're probably being confused by Superman and Batman who do not have the hyphens.
