I'm not American, and I have no idea what kind of president Reagan was.. but there has been nothing else on CNN besides him all damn day and it's kind of pissing me off.

Re: Reagan

I know that some people say Reagan was like the best president ever and others say he was a dumby-head crappy president...

And that line seems to go right through my family... :hmm:

Re: Reagan

I respect Reagan for one thing. He did what Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford and Carter could never do:

He dismantled the Soviet Union and did it with his pocket book and not a nuclear weapon.

That is genius.

Rest In Peace Mr. President.

Re: Reagan

I agree with Crono on this one..

Im not American...but i dont think he (Reagan ) was the best president. The best one, i think was Lincoln, for the sole fact that he abolished ( im pretty sure) slavery.

I have one question, why is it that after a president loses the presidency, he is still referred to as "president"? Its like if your boss gets fired, then you see him, and still refer to him as "boss". I just dont get it.

I give him respect for both the dismantle of USSR and as well as lower the insane tax on rich people. 60% income is insane -_-

Re: Reagan

He probably wasn't the best president ever but he is one of the best modern day presidents (that was living until yesterday).

Sad to see him go but it was catching up to him since his illness kicked in pretty bad.

I'd say because of respect. Nobody's respected more than a president, I'd guess.

Out of respect and tradition.

Re: Reagan

The only reason Lincoln freed the slaves was because he hoped they would aid the north in winning the war. He initially only freed slaves in those states that were in rebellion.

Now FDR on the other hand was a great president. Sure he tried to stack the supreme court, but he got us out of the depression so it's all good. :)

Re: Reagan

Hes one of the best presidents of the 20th century, behind FDR. He even admired FDR.

That was lucky. If anyone else was the president you would say he got you out of depression. He alone didnt get the world out of depression you know. You want to know who actually got the world out of the great depression? Hitler. Seriously. If he didnt start WWII then the depression would have gone on longer, the war was the reason the depression ended.
