Re: A heartwarming story brought to you by Texas
I read that earlier but I don't know if I agree with you or not. For one, how can we ever know for sure whether or not these criminals are truely ill or just putting on an act. I mean, people can analyze them and stuff, but they can't say for sure that the criminal is ill or not. And, if he was mentally ill, then shouldn't he have already been monitored and diagnosed before the crime. If so, then wouldn't his caretakers have been able to prevent him from killing or 'forsee' a possible violent action and treat the patient before he can follow through?
I'm against the death penalty though. In my opinion, life in prison is a much worse punishment than death. |

hmm, i dunno why they killed him but his daughter seemed pretty happy about it. Now double homicide, if he wasn't a schizo, i'd say put him to death.

If you do the crime, you do the time and/or death row. I don't care.

Re: A heartwarming story brought to you by Texas
Charles Manson is about as mentally ill as one person can get... and he should also be dead as a doornail. Also I don't think that by reading one short article about a murderer can really give us enough knowledge to second guess a criminal justice system that has been dealing with him for 12 years.

I think its stupid that if you are mentally ill, and kill someone, you get off scot-free ( In comparison if your not mental) I dont care if your retated or not, we shouldnt have leeway for you, just because your different. You still did something wrong, and thats the bottom line....but thats just IMO.
