The Reason the PSP is so expensive
....it "apparently" can display this:
![]() ![]() Look at the Sony fanboys, they are already saying how much better the graphics are on the PSP... cept none of these are running on the psp, the resulution of the screen isn't even capable of that kinda resolution...**sigh* I wont even get into this. funny how they just show these "demo" reels of everything. why wait until summer 2005 to release this? to get more launch games? how about to get any launch games. i wanna see it running on the hardware, not on a dvd player... but if hardware is not finalized and/or playable, can we really expect these results? remember what they said doom 3 would look like on the xbox. The real thing to think about, mgs should remain a console game. portable games should be games you can pick up and play for 10 minutes and be content with. MGS always requires a big time investment, and when you're waiting in line for 5-10 minutes, its not that useful for that kinda thing. |
Re: The Reason the PSP is so expensive
your in denial.....
I saw the PSP Video demo's from E3 2004 and the games look sick. Maybe not as sick as Xbox, Gamecube or even PS2 quality... but it's sick for a handheld portable. I'm not surprised Sony would be able to display these kind of games on the PSP hardware.... We all dont know ENOUGH to make any kind of judgements, but as of the demo's the PSP's graphics will be tough for nintendo to compete with. EDIT: I do realize it was shown on a DVD player, but that's a not arguement on your part, since the whole video was a clip of almost all the games, and a brief snapshot of PSP in every few seconds. They probably needed the hardware of a DVD player to play the size of the file. Besides, original video encoded on a DVD player does not effect the quality of the video, so what you see on the dvd player is what you'll see on the PSP only on a smaller screen. |
Re: The Reason the PSP is so expensive
Yeah, I believe the PSP will be able to do that. But Crash is not in denial, he's right. That isn't running on actual PSP hardware since the hardware isn't finished yet (casing is, not the innards). This is emulated.
At any rate, yeah, it's a polygon monster. But look at how muddy those textures are. |

PSP has Dreamcast quality graphics. No need to complain. |
Re: The Reason the PSP is so expensive
The DS does have textures dumbass. Nintendo has already said its between the N64 and Gamecube in look.

Re: The Reason the PSP is so expensive
now now. dont go all off on him.
the DS does indeed have textures. well, at least can do them better then the games have shown thus far. if they're between GC and N64 they're moer on the 64 end i believe. but it can do them quite a bit better then whats been shown. (plus the ones shown have been like cartoony like mario kart and such) |

Crash, you really don't need to create a new thread for each idea you have during E3...

Re: The Reason the PSP is so expensive
the DS leans towards DC, while the PSP leans towards PS2.
