Stories reminding me why I hated school so much just keep coming up...
...and they never get any better.
Some of you might have heard about this, but this middle school was having an award ceremony for the athletes, and this coach called up a player to tell him to make sure he shows up since he has an award for him. So when the ceremony is in session, the coach presents him with a "crybaby award". I think it was to imply that that particular player complains a lot. I don't like constant complaining myself, but...a crybaby award??? That's just...low! That guy didn't even show up for school the next day. Oh well, at least the coach got his walking papers. Just like he deserves. And we wonder why students are kicking their teachers asses these days. |

You don't hear that sentiment very often. Is the holding of hands a symbolic gesture for humans? "" guy did not even show up for school the next day ? Makes sense to me.Tell me more.In many ways, yes. In other ways, no.By "we" do you mean you and me? |

Now, I don't really agree with what the coach did, but I still have to look at this way. So the kid and the parents continued to cry until they got the coach fired? Well worthy of the award for sure.

Well, if the kid was really being a whiny brat, then I'd be dissapointed in him. Sure, what the coach did is a bit over the line, but I wouldn't try to get him fired or let my kid stay home from school and sulk about it. Who knows...perhaps this kid will be taught a lesson.

Well, if the coach is harsh enough to give out a "crybaby award", then I doubt he'd recognize a true crybaby from a person who really has a reaosn not to do something or protest or whatever.
Example: This is probably the kind of coach who deny the kid the right to water even though the kid is obviously about to collapse from exhaustion or heat or whatever. Besides, if the kid was a real crybaby, then embarassing him over it isn't going to help; if anything, the kid now has more to cry about. *shrugs and walks away* |

I bet the coaches colleagues found it funny and the kid could have been a brat in all his other classes too. Maybe he got what he deserved?
You all know there is someone all the teachers hate. |

They have an award in Football at our school..i think its called the "Crunch Award" given to those who are good hitters/Tackelers. The award is an Axe with tiny little metal things on the side that say the previous players names. This one guy at our school was the kind of guy who would beat people within an inch of their lives for no apparent reason, well...he won the Axe award, and the coaches had a big long descussion about it because they didnt want to hand the "trophy" over to him, so they skipped his award, and announced it at the end saying "They forgot"
We also have plenty of Dick teachers at our school, there is this one who works in the shop and i swear he a half-mustache and a spiked helmet away from being Hitler. He does whatever is in his power to ruin your day, he walks the halls when hes not "Teaching" to tell you what to do...and hes surprised that in the last school he was at that he got beat up by a high-schooler... |
Re: Stories reminding me why I hated school so much just keep coming up...
I don't see any big deal with this. I remember when I was in high school and on the JV Football team, there was this one kid on the varsity team who was slow as hell, funny looking as hell, .... (come to think of it he was most likely mentally deficient) anyway, this guy was clearly the worst athlete on the team and a major joke. He was only on it because here in New York City, there are no 'tryouts' for football teams, you join if you feel like it. I remember we used to take the same bus home and everyday he would tell me about the coaches refusing to give him a chance. All the time. Every single day. And if you ever seen the way he looked in pads, or ran, you'd keep him off the field too. Annoying as hell. So I can't necessarily say that what they did to the kid was wrong especially since it was reported that even the kid who carried around the team's bags got an award. These things happen.

That's really low. Even if he did complain a lot it doesnt mean he needs to humiliate him infront of the whole school
:( not cool. |

Haha... I find this to be funny...Mayybe if the kid were like 16 instead or 13 it wouldn't be so serious.
