Paper Blu-Ray Disks
http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99994894
I just read it. Pretty interesting and cool. Still holds 25 gigs of data but only costs 51 cents to make!:D I want some screens of the paper disks. Better security and recycling is a plus with this paper method. |
Re: Paper Blu-Ray Disks
Manufacturing cost = 51 cents
Cost to Consumer = 51 dollars Profit = $50.49 Knowing your ripping all the consumers off with outragous prices... Priceless |

Re: Paper Blu-Ray Disks
I think it says "it consists of 51 per cent paper" not 51 cents to make. I thinks its pretty cool, but I hope it can handle scratches pretty well, because one small scratch can mean a lot of data.

Good, a renewable resource. Let's just hope they're not too crazy about it and go and cut down multiple forests just for this.

Re: Paper Blu-Ray Disks
Pfft. 51?
151 is more like it, especially if they can make it small. |
Re: Paper Blu-Ray Disks
Who knows, it may work. Although I doubt everyone will be changing all of their cd storage to blu-ray disks anytime soon.
