Funny, in a sad sort of way

I just found out that my 73 year old grandmother is a drug addict.

Seriously. We just found out that she's addicted to prescription pain killers. There were 19 pills in the bottle last night and 3 this morning. She been really yucky/groggy lately, and we couldn't figure out why... now we know.

It was kinda nasty. Her friend found her having not eaten in days and from head to toe covered in feces. Yuck!! That's when her friend started counting pills.

My G'ma lives like 2 hours away so we can't get up there right now to slap her(j/k).

When she was in rehab after falling and breaking a hip, she kept checking herself out of the hospital and after rehab... now we know why... oh well....

It's really aggrivating too, she made a living when she was younger being a professional painter (she would do large murals in restaurants) and she's also a published poet.

She's hurt many people throughout her life, she's a hypocrondriac and agoraphobic, maybe the fact that it's hard to take her seriously is what makes this funny, but... on any rate... I'm just pictureing a 73 year old druggie, and finding it quite funny.

Funny, but sad.. :lol:

I can sort of see the funny side to it, but really, being addicted to painkillers, take too many and it can kill the pain permanently if you get my meaning. I feel sorry for your grandmother and I dont even know her. I have a similar problem, if my grandmother has an accident over night then her home care people will phone my dad and here I am late at night on the net.... shat I better log off.

maybe I'm a square, but I find that quite the opposite of funny...

I feel sorry for your grandmother, and I hope she recovers ASAP...

Drug addiction is not funny.

Period.

Might I just point out, you cant get addicted to pot, hash, cannibis, green, whatever you want to call it. Why this drug has a bad reputation I dont personally know in fact it can and does help people with medical conditions.

That's pretty sad. Just imagining her laying there head to toe in feces is a disturbing site. I'm not sure how that could be funny.
