TimeSplitters 2 Online

Now this is big news. While Eidos is remaining completely quiet about its upcoming first-person shooter TimeSplitters 2, very good sources close to Eidos have told IGNPS2 that TimeSplitters is no longer coming out this spring, which is sad and sucks rocks. But it gets better.

The game is practically done, the single-player game and the four-player split-screen death matches, that is, but the new online aspects need some time. Apparently, Sony is trying to line up as many big name titles as possible, including titles such as TimeSplitters 2, for the fall 2002 to bring down the house. TimeSplitters 2 online? THAT WILL ROCK. If Sony doesn't announce its online plans in the next month or so, make sure to check out our E3 coverage in May, which is surely when the online plans will be announced.

Anyone wondering why this is good news, let me put it this way: Timesplitters 2 plays VERY VERY similar to Goldeneye 007 for N64...so think of it as a next generation Goldeneye online...

Well, Timesplitters does retain some of the departed GoldenEye 007 development team members - so that would be very good reason to link the game characteristics to that of the exalted 007. Anyhoo, I'll rent the first one and see if it is my bag of chips. Sounds good, though. Sony is bringing their network plans to the surface and is already showing progress with the development of stellar games with online components.

ya know a game i want them to put online, twisted metal. that would be sweet, wouldn't it?

I wish they made more online RPGs...

First person shooting games, getting boring in deathmatches in a matter of minutes. Playing online is the same thing as playing with bots and that's no fun.

funny you say that....Twisted Metal Black Online is well into development...it should be out this summer/fall
