New York Post writer suffers from head up ass syndrome

Wow. I read one of the worst articles I've ever read on the New York Post Online today.

Retarded Article

He talks about how selling violent video games like Grand Theft Auto is

"10,000 times worse than the worst thing anybody thinks Michael Jackson ever did to a little boy"

So...selling a violent video game geared towards adults is as bad as molesting 10,000 children simultaneously?

These people fail to realize that people are messed up with or without video games. If your kid shoots somebody, i doubt it's because of a video game. It's more likely because you aren't doing you job as a parent. The more you make sure your child is aware of whats wrong or right and where the line is between real and fantasy the less likely he/she is to shoot somebody.

But these days video games are the scape goat for acts of violence these days.

It's like how in the 80's heavy metal music was blamed for the rise in teen suicide.

But if you haven't reead the article, do so now. The guy writing really has no clue what he's talking about.

He presents a poor argument. He doesn't really back up anything he says. He just rambles on making non-sensical claims left and right.

It's sad.

Silly little child, of course videogames are to be blamed. Remember no man is responsible for his own action, it would mean somehow society failed him.

I don't get how they can spread so much BS< they claim the game has sold over 5 million copies, which is true to my knowledge. So why are there only like a dozen or so crimes "related" to the game? Is it that the other 4 million, 9 hundred 99 thousand, 9 hundred and 88 people went unaffected by the game or something?

And that is just a sad statement, saying a game which is clearly make believe is far worse than a growing man having his way with kids or someone frauding the government? Isn't this a grand world we live in.

I read this article after Dylflon sent it to me on MSN. I emailed the stupid writer.

Other countries (Canada) have the same violent entertainment we do yet for some reason they don't have anywhere near the number of shooting deaths that we do.

That's because up here in Canada it is too hard to shoot people because of the constant snowing and blizzards.

The answer is banning all guns, except for police and other law enforcement, obviously. My parents dont own one, and nobody in my not so distant family owns one either that I can think of.

My theory:

There are born sick people. They need inspiration to do their sick deeds. Movies, books, games, the news and stuff give them inspiration.
Are games to blame? No.

Although I sometimes feel that I don't WANT TO play a too violent game, cause I feel it messes with my brain.
Every time you play or see something violent, you're replacing your borderline. You'll want more every time, like any addiction.

Wow that guy is messed up. He would rather be raped in the ass by Michael Jackson then die. if it came down to that i would kill myself 1,000 times or untill i died.

Wow... what a crappy article.... hmm... so 10,000 young boys raped, or a few people gunned down... I mean, as said already, people are born sick... they only needed a trigger... and its easier to kill others with guns that with knives...today's society has made triggering what is sick in these people easier to act on, but banning the games would just be STUPID.

Reading that reminded me of Bowling for Columbine. I loved it when he went to Canada and could just walk into anyones house, doors unlocked and everything.

But anywho. I'm leaving my opinion to myself. I could stir up a little too much for this thread. *walks out*
