free music downloading sites?¿?¿?

does anyone know of any cool music downloading sites that are free, i know of one, its called gnapster, and well it basically sucks, theres only about 2-3 servers on the entire network and with thousands using it (many with dsl).. it's practically impossible to stay connected long enough to get a few songs. So if anyone could please help me out..

I don't know of any cool sites, but there are some good P2P applications.

Kazaa Lite (PC)
Limewire (PC/Mac)
Poisoned (Mac)

I think they are charging people to get KLite now. I have the old version of it before you had to pay, so Im all cool.

no. they WERE charging for klite, but dunno if that was the official site or some shmucks there were many other sites to download the newest version for free.

However there will be no more klite updates or new versions what have you.

klite got sued by kazaa for copyright infringment (yes, har, har,) and klite had to shut down. You'll most likely be seing klite come with a new name and an altered program but for now thier last version will be it for a while.

Actually Kazaa Lite is still around. They just moved to a new website that is very hard to find.

lol klite is a shareware program so if they charge for it I'll setup a server and put it on it :)

Blubster. It's really really fast (d/l at 500kb/s on DSL) but they mostly just have mainstream stuff on it.

I don't use it too much since I don't listen to popular stuff so I don't really know too much. Since it would start to upload stuff right after d/ling them I would just move the mp3s from the blubster folder to another when a song finished d/ling.
