The official N5 thread: speculate!!

Ok what do you think the next Nintendo SHOULD be, and what it's GONNA be???

I think it should have DVD playback and all the other media stuff.
The GCN controller has to be changed, the D-Pad has to be bigger. The 2 Z-triggers should be UNDER the L and R buttons, more comfy for shooting. Why not bring the 'select' button back? Just give it another name.
The graphics are gonna be alright, but they need enough time to dev some good launch games. Just bring out Too Human at that time. And the next Mario. And after that the grown-up Zelda.

I'm not sure if wireless will be standard... I'm afraid it won't.
Oh yeah, it should have a built-in HD and BBA.

I think that Nintendo might not use DVDs, but a newer system instead. It's risky though....

I think that the next Nintendo system, "N5" as its being hailed, just use the normal DVD size disc, and I think it should have a built in DVD player.

The system should also have a harddrive, and built in dial-up/bba.

I also think that the new system should have a slot that you just slide the game into. No lid or trays or any of that crap. By doing this, it will be a lot harder for dust to get to the lense.

I also agree with Canyarion about the Z button. It should be on the BOTTOM of the controler, in a position where you can sqeeze it like a trigger.

The next system should also be backwards compatible with the GCN.

N5 needs to be backwards compatable with GCN and have the GBPlayer built in. It needs large memory cards to be the standard. As for the controller, the z-button should be moved to where everyone else thinks it should be. As for the whole DVD CD player deal, a CD player would be nice, but a DVD player is definatley not a big deal to me. Although it probably is to a lot of people still, so whatever.

Re: The official N5 thread: speculate!!

DVD Playback is not a necessity anymore because enough people own DVD Players anyways, so whats the point on wasting more money for a feature thats not really needed. Ninty could release a special N5 that includes DVD Playback like they did this gen., but 5 to 1 says it sells horrible if Ninty somehow does this because of said reason a few lines above.

But I'm hoping Nintendo includes a built in HD and a LAN/Ethernet Port. No need for dial up since its hard enough this gen to incorporate dial up players into an online game. Nintendo should include an online setup at the launch to at least keep in competition with the other companies.

Built in wireless ports MUST be there. If Nintendo can make it so the wireless controllers are able to be recharged and not need AA batteries, that would be the greatest thing Ninty could do for me.

Other then that, I'll reply here and there as people add new features that could be included and I'll give my input:p

surprised more of you havnt said the backwards compatibility thing. that is something it heavily needs, we already knows sonys is. MS prolly will too.

also for the LOVE OF GOD, do not build in wireless ports, just make the damn wires longer like Sony's. there is no reason to have to buy batteries all the damn time just so we can get a pointless wireless connection. Not even close to being worth it.

Agreed. I love my two Wavebirds, but I dont use them unless Im plaing with more than two people, because its hard to fit 4 people around a TV with all wired controlers. If Im just going to play by myself, I almost always use my wired controler.

I agree with Jonbo, DVD is definately not a necessity and would be a waste of money. I like the idea of the GBplayer being built in. Backwards compatibility definately and LAN ports. I don't think wireless controllers should be standard, many people don't like them. I don't really have any insightful ideas at this point, just giving my opinion on what others have said.

Oh yeah, I forgot about backwards compatibility:p I would like that to be included.

And I always use my Wavebird(s) for anything I play. I like being able to sit anywhere and not have to worry about the cord or anyone tripping over it.

Yeah, the wavebird can be cool. I like the idea of wireless, the only reason I haven't purchased one as of yet is because it is a little too pricey and it doesn't have the rumble feature.

WaveBird 2 should have a rechargable accu. :)
GB player would be nice, but it will hurt Nintendo in sales if they put in one 'for free'.

Oh yeah, bluetooth connection with the GameBoy!!! :D:D

Backwards compatibility shouldn't be too hard.

And even though everybody will have a DVD player, not every kid will have one in it's room. If my N5 could play DVDs (with dolby surround sound) and MP3 and stuff, I'd sell my DVD player.

I love the DVD-eater idea.

I cant believe I forgot the most important feature that the N5 should have: The built in waffle Iron. Just buy whatever mix you choose, pour it in the CD tray, and push the special "cook" button on the side of the unit and presto! Homemade waffle's!

I like that idea. Wouldn't have to leave the room for food and stuff. And everyone knows you can eat waffles anytime.

Well anyway, I'm looking over the wireless discussion and I was thinking that if the N5 used only wireless controlers, then you could get rid of the ugly controller ports on the front of the machine. Also, the ammount of players could be limitless if design it that way. While this may not work on splitscreen games, it would be good for the next Super Smash Brothers or even for sports games. Just think, eight player Super Smash Brothers. Or, even a hocky game where every single player is controlled by a human! The controlers of course would have to be rechargeable unless a way can be devised for them to work without bateries.

N5 needs to have a DVD player/burner, a built in hard drive, and a built in ethernet adapter(who uses dial up anymore anyways). It should be able to hold up to 5 disks, and have a remote, so u can change games without getting up. Wireless recievers should be built into the system, and the controllers should have built in recharchable lithium batterys. The graphics will be awsome, no dought. They should focus mainly on multiplayer games, because now days nobody plays by themself.

They should pick a "mature" color for the system, **** that purple. They need a good amount of launch titles, and to have games keep coming out after launch. I think good launch lineup would be, Mario, PilotWings, Too Human, a good shooter, a couple sports games, and some 3rd party developments.

I personally enjoy playing by myself and I know my mom prefers good single player games. Unfortunately there is so much focus on the multiplayer (which is awesome) that there just aren't many really good single players out. Personally, I think Nintendo needs to do a better job of getting games that have both options. Fun for both single player and multi player.
