Making Music CDs...
How come when I tried to burn 27 songs in MP3 format (171 MB) onto a 650 MB CD it would only allow me to burn 16 of those songs? It was only 127 MB of information, and it isn't rewritable so now I've wasted a CD burning only 16 out of the 27 songs. I did this in the Window Media Player program. What's going on?

Re: Re: Making Music CDs...
1. How do I go about indicating that I want to make an MP3 CD and not an Audio CD?
2. Most electronic items these days that can play audio CDs can also read the MP3 format, right? Like our 2001 Toyota Avalon and our DVD player and stuff? |

There are some CD players that don't play burned audio discs.
Yes, find a program in which you can burn files on to a disc. On mine you choose the option to put files on it, in which you put mp3's only. I think you can have something like 120 songs on a CD. It's a good deal. And you have to find out if the player is compatible with the mp3 format. I know that my dad's BMW's CD player is compatible with mp3's because it says so on the front. My DVD player doesn't though.. I don't think I've seen one with it yet. |

On the subject of GM's problem. Don't use Windows Media Player. Go with something like Nero 6. I love it. |
Re: Re: Making Music CDs...
i use MusicMatch7.5 Plus for mp3 buring but i never really use mp3 cds because the only thing that i have that reads them is my dvd player

Re: Re: Re: Making Music CDs...
My friends $60 dvd player he got at shoppers drug mart ( dunno if they have thos in the U.S. ) reads Mp3's.. so i figure that most dvd players would..
gamemaster to me it REALLY sounds like you burned an audio cd to me. You have to tell it that you wanna burn a data cd. |
Re: Re: Re: Re: Making Music CDs...
i might be a little late here. i havnt read everyones responce.
But in response to the first post... Your problem was that you selected Create Audio CD. It has changed them all into Audio format before making the CD. If you want to burn them as MP3's you gotta create a regular data CD and put them on there. |

Not exactly. I made the mistake of burning my first CD on my new computer in MP3 format, and i could only play it on my Computer(no brainer), and my DVD player. It wouldnt play anywhere else, not the car, not the stero. Id make sure what you want to play it on can read in the MP3 format. |
Re: Re: Re: Re: Making Music CDs...
What's the largest capacity blank CD availble to the public at this point in time?
|
All CD's are something around 600 megs? But Dreamcast GD's were written to hold a gig of data... but that's Dreamcast.
Every disc is more than 600 megs. So 120 songs of 5 megs would fit, basically. Heh. |

74min = 640MB 80min = 700MB 90min = 800MB (90mins CD violates the red book standard for CD’s) |
Re: Making Music CDs...
Nero6 makes mention of something called DDCD's (Double Data CD's). I can't remember where I saw info. on them. But I remember it said something like it can hold 1.5 gig's of data, but its for data only since audio players can't read that high.
