The Phantom Unveiled
 

Well Neo, still got the templates for the Phantom Phorum?;)

But anywho. The Phantom has been officially announced. For some reason, phantom.net isn't loading for me. But I know of another site that also participated in the unveiling.

They have 1 console image, a pdf file explaining what the Phantom has to offer and an interview. The video links lead to Phantom.net and it either (at the time), has waaaay too much traffic, or is just down.

I want to see how it turns out, considering the current release date is Q1 of 2004.

Here's a link to news that breaks down the "basic info" since as of right now, no other major sites have news about it up yet. (as of 8:15 am CST)

Sounds like basically a computer thats specifically designed for gameplay.

in a way yes and no. there have been thoughts and ideas about this for a while now. There were plans to build other consoles that install and run PC games. there are some problems and such that might and will arrise.

PC gamers will without a doubt stick to PC still. but it might open up some of the blinders console people wear when it concerns PC games. thats if it can get itself off to an innitial ok start anyway.

If it can play Doom 3, I'm buying one, Q1 2004.

P.S. When Phantom comes out, I opt to be the/a moderator for its phorums ¦¬Þ

Dig up proof. When people at GT laughed at the design months ago in what I assume was the first post, I noted of its potential. This isn't just a recent thing for me ¦¬Þ.

The least you could do is add me to the "group", heh.

Well, I was the one who kicked Neo in the ass the night before April First to get the Phantom Phorum up.. I even designed the crappy image. Heh. And of course, we both put on our thick fanboy accents the whole day, too.

Yeah, the Phantom Phorum was pretty funny. As a matter of fact, I had my hopes up that day ¦¬Þ.

But, there were posts before the April Fools day incident, is what I'm stating.
