28 Days Later

Anybody seen this or wanna see it? I saw it last night... K I'm pretty sure there are no spoilers in the stuff below...

This dood wakes up in a deserted hospital and wanders around London's deserted streets wondering where the fudge everybody is... And then stuff happens...

Yeah it's a "Zombie" movie... But they're not really zombies... I don't think they actually eat their victims... The disease is spread by getting infected blood into you (mouth, eyes, whatever) or by being bitten... The people aren't really undead, and instead of dragging themselves around slowly and moaning they go CRAZY and they'll twich and flail around and scream and run at you (In the beginning of the movie they call it being infected with RAAAAGE)... And they can be killed like any normal human could be (no shot through the brain stuff)...

And it was shot on Digital Video which gave it kind of a gritty look... And it also allowed them to quickly get shots of the deserted streets of London (setting up quickly and only having to stop traffic for a minute or two at a time)...

Really there isn't a whole lot of horror in the movie... Most of it is just more like a survival kind of movie... and most of the movie is very quiet and such... And because of that some might find it boring, but I thought it was a very good movie (which is kinda surprising for a horror movie)... First half of the movie was good, and the second half was even better (IMO)... yep...

The Hulk was utter ****. Don't ever see this movie. Dated CGI, crappy acting, and they tried to make the movie as a comic, which failed miserably. I only recommend this movie to people I hate...

I saw this movie available in my theater, but sadly, i didn't go see it. Instead, I was forced to see Bruce Almighty. I hope to check this out soon though ;o

I heard 28 Days Later was horrible...

*HULK SPOILERS*

And I thought the Hulk was just plain bad. It takes like an hour for the movie to even show the Hulk and then its one of those teasing in the shadows type things. The stuff in between the Hulk scenes were boring and uninteresting. I couldn't decide if Bruce's dad actually loved him, hated him, was proud of his "creation", or was always wanting to use him for his powers.

Jennifer Connely's character (I have never met a girl named Betty...) was just the typical love interest trying to protect the monster. How many times has the whole "girl falls in love with monster and has to stop daddy from killing it" thing been done?

Nor could I figure out where that other guy was coming from... The young guy... The one who wants to use the Hulk's DNA or whatever to make super soldiers. Maybe I missed something, but he just showed up out of nowhere suddenly antagonizng the heroes. Its said he has some past history with Bruce and Betty but it never expands on it. I just felt he was there to be the annoying comic relief villain.

And how many times had the super soldier thing been done as well?

And there were some inconsistencies as well. General Ross (correct?) is trying to interrogate Bruce to find out where his father is. He thinks that Bruce might be planning something with his father. This is complete stupidity. Bruce, who has never shown any sort of hostility towards anybody, does not seem to be the person to plan anything with anybody much less his father who he hasn't met since he was like three.

Not only that, but its revealed that Bruce's dad killed his mom in front of Bruce. General Ross knows this happened is completely surprised that Bruce was unable to remember this. How could he suspect that Bruce would be protecting his father if he knew his mother was killed in front of him? If I remembered my mom being stabbed by my father (not to mention because she was stopping him from stabbing me) I certainly wouldn't protect my father. I would help get him into custody.

And the ending sucks. Maybe I'm just stupid (or had just lost interest and wasn't paying attention) but I had no clue why they put Bruce and his dad on some electric floor and allowed them to talk while planning to electrocute them if they did anything. I didn't get that at all.

And the ending battle is the worst I've ever seen. I didn't understand that either.

In its credit, most of the scenes with Hulk were pretty cool. The CG was awesome IMO (except for one scene where the Hulk picks up Betty) but the action was good. There just wasn't enough of it.

Anyway...

I'm done :D

I liked Bruce Allmighty. It wasn't hillarious, but I had a good laugh.

Well the reviews are pretty good (check out www.rottentomatoes.com), although the couple of reviews from this area I saw said it was bad (2 out of 4 stars, then another said visually it does some nice things, but it's brought down by a 'horrible' script)

When we got to the theater there was a group of 6 or so people that my friend knew... They all said the movie was pretty bad... But we both liked it... *shrug*

I've heard from just about everybody else that Bruce Almighty blew chunks, but a couple people from GT have said it's good... A lot of people say The Hulk sucks ass (one radio reviewer guy said it was the worst movie he's ever seen), but my friend and his dad (and some other people coming out of the theater) thought it was pretty good...

See how opinions work? :D

Ginkasa 06-29-2003 10:10 PM

I thought Bruce Almighty was hilarious. Funniest new comedy I've seen in a while.
