Pictures of Limited Edition Green Xbox

Have a look:

Unfortunately it's only going to be available in Europe, good news for the Europeans I suppose. It still looks pretty cool though.

I wish Microsoft would consider releasing something like this in America. It would sell like hot cakes.

It's okay I guess, nothing special with translucent plastic. I think many of the modded xboxs look nicer.

Joeiss 04-24-2003 08:48 PM

Yeah, if you make a special console, make it really cool... Like some of the modded ones.

Dyne 04-24-2003 09:55 PM

Once again.. I can only be jealous as hell.

Never been a fan of clear consoles, especially that colour

I wonder if the whole thing lights up when you turn it on?

Now that would be good!

Stonecutter 04-24-2003 10:47 PM

Actually, I wouldn't look at this as "less than a mod" but rather as another thing to mod.

How cool would a lighted green xbox be?

VERY cool. Green is a sick colour as well, but that green looks like vomit

Stonecutter 04-24-2003 11:43 PM

I think with an inside light that green would look juuuuuuuust fine.

Happydude 04-24-2003 11:44 PM

i would prefer the xbox to be some cool color that makes green stand out, and i would make that light up, and then the X in the middle could light up green...that would look nice...but what color would go nice with green?

GameMaster 04-24-2003 11:44 PM

Clear Plastic = Cheap?

Could that be true? Are these shells possibly cheaper to make than the normal pure black shells? As far as costs of paint go and everything?

Stonecutter 04-25-2003 12:24 AM

1) Xbox shells aren't black, they're very, very, very dark green. Think I'm on crack, fine don't believe me, but if you look close you can tell. If you own a black gamecube (I assume a ps2 would work just as well) put it right next to the xbox and look at it under good light and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

2) They don't paint the plastic, that's just the color it is. It's just a matter of chemicals. So it's possible this is slightly cheaper to make, but not much if at all.

Seven7 04-25-2003 12:45 AM

So they don't add as much green then huh.

How about a clear one, it may look cheap but light it up with blue or red it may look cool.

Maybe if they made it clear like this Soyo clear case for PC, then that would be neat.

Shadow_Link 04-25-2003 06:43 PM

Isn't the green Xbox standard in Japan? Or is that something else?

Oh, and the see through plastic isn;t cheaper. It's actually more expensive, I think it'll add £20 to the UK price (From what i read). There may actually be more lights to light up the Xbox..? Changing the shell couldn't possibly add that much to the price, could it?
